The Love Song

 

A music sweet,

Following a beat.

The highs and lows

Offer a certain pose.

 

The major lift,

The slow drift.

The ups and downs,

The love song astounds.

 

Flowing through veins,

A muse to feel the ache.

An ache handsome,

Which holds the heart ransom.

 

A freedom in words

That the soul does rehearse.

A language within reach,

The love song speaks.

 

Of a time long gone,

Or a love about to explode.

The ins and outs,

The beauty surrounds.

 

On a chord, it flies,

On a tune, it’s realized.

A passion deep, knowing no wrong--

The love song.
