A Dance in Rhyme

A Dance in Rhyme

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Dance in Rhyme

Twirling ’round and ’round,

she dances as never before.

For this, she has waited--

the moment her soul implored.

As she moves to the music,

she’s never felt more alive.

All else dims in comparison--

a dance in rhyme.

Feeling as free as a bird,

she dances with all she has.

Her movements no longer restricted,

as in the glow she basks.

All her cares have ceased,

as she dances in great strides.

Light on her feet---

a dance in rhyme.

The music, pure heavenly,

as she sweeps and twirls.

Her heart is filled with happiness

she’s never felt in the world.

Now, she’s here with Him,

dancing before her Lord, glorified.

She has left her chair in that other world

for a dance in perfect rhyme.

Letting go being free and dancing in rhymes is something I wish to do myself. The moment of being joyful with abandon

The freedom that dance can bring, must be so missed by those unable to participate. I really felt the movement in your lines Melinda. This is a lovely upbeat poem.

Hello dear Melinda. I love your new poetry my dear friend.
"The music, pure heavenly,
as she sweeps and twirls.
Her heart is filled with happiness
she’s never felt in the world."
The above lines. So good, so wonderful. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Melinda.
I have an ex who is a beautiful dancer. I just wish she could have let go like the subject of this poem.
For her, always a holding back, a certain restraint....lack of trust in how good she is...
and that carried over to love...the restraint.
this poem speaks to me.
