She Accomplished

She Accomplished

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

She Accomplished

She danced…

            With ambition.

            With renewed hope.

            With possibilities on the horizon.

            With a will to cope.

She sung…

            With carefree abandon.

            With a heart crying.

            With arms lifted.

            With her spirit sighing.

She hoped…

            With everything she was.

            With every breath.

            With her whole heart.

            With the tears she shed.

She believed…

With every stroke to her keyboard.

With every word she dared to write.

With every ounce of her soul.

With every ounce of her strength.

She accomplished…

            Because she dared to dance.

            Because she dared to sing.

            Because she dared to hope.

            Because she dared to believe.

Hmmm, I don't think I've ever quite seen something written with this format before, but it is surprisingly pleasing and definitely works for what you were trying to do with it. I like the idea of how the original decision she made to dance (in my mind probably long before she ever accomplished whatever it is) led her to be able to succeed because she was just brave enough to try. I enjoyed this

Yeah... I guess it's a free verse format. I think it's eye-catching. Thanks for reading.
