The Holy Spirit Reigns

The Holy Spirit Reigns

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Holy Spirit Reigns

Rain down on Your people

Your comfort and power.

Gracing with Your Spirit,

Our high tower.

The ever-present Helper

In times of need.

The calming peace in one’s soul--

The Holy Spirit reigns indeed.

At times, You’re the gentle nudge

To remind me that You’re near.

A sweetness consuming my soul,

The destroying of my fears.

The very Presence of God

Living in me in His special way!

How sweet Your love--

How Your Holy Spirit reigns.

At times, when in need of special assurance,

Your word I recall.

Nourishment in the very moment

On Jesus’s Name I call.

Thank I God for such a gift

On that blessed day.

From Pentecost, the day it first fell--

The Holy Spirit reigns.
