Like Water unto My Soul

Like Water unto My Soul

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Like Water unto My Soul

Flowing through,

Ripples coursing in midst.

An undeniable power,

A source cherished.

Needful of Your love,

Of Your wondrous Presence.

Desire I, You,

Like water unto my soul, love is sent.

Quench my thirst

For all things of You.

Rain upon me

Your all-knowing truth.

In worship, cries my heart,

Needing to hear from my Maker.

Then, You visit me,

Like water unto my soul, my Sustainer.

Pouring out Your Spirit,

A sweet savor unto me.

A pleasant perfume

Sets me at ease.

Flowing through,

Ripples come and go.

For my Lord and I commune

Like water unto my soul.
