My Written Words

My Written Words

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

My Written Words

Here in my space,

I’m free to be me.

Elegantly spoken,

Soft is my “speech”.

No stumble, no guessing,

My readers read the words I write.

My craft allows people to see the real me,

The me who resides inside.

A buoy to stay me

When my speaking voice refuses to work.

An outlet to express my heart,

My written words.

A whole world at my fingertips

Springing to life.

Imagine my joy,

Imagine my delight…

To be capable of not only being understood,

But to be heard.

A flood of my soul swimming out by way of

My written words.

Good Melinda. Being able to share your words is important and allows us to express our innermost thoughts. Also the written word can linger for generations whereas the spoken word is ephemeral.
Nice poem.
Cheers,
Alan
