A Million Pieces

A Million Pieces

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Million Pieces

In a world with many choices

And many loud voices,

It’s easy to become lost

In that dreary fog.

Like weights tied to your shoes,

Burdens are too big; you know not what to do.

Heavy on the soul,

A million pieces to bestow.

Desires of your heart seems unseen,

That your prayers don’t reach.

Cares tower to the sky,

Tears filling the eyes.

Don’t, oh soul,

Stay down for long.

For there’s Someone who turns

A million pieces that, for Him, brightly burn.

Using bad for good,

Misfortunes are soon understood

As a beckoning light

Leading to everlasting life.

O how He loves

Answering from above.

Which is the reason He sent Jesus,

To mend a million pieces.
