Jesus My Jesus

Jesus My Jesus

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Jesus My Jesus

No other Name

Can calm a raging storm.

One whispered utter

Can call for Thy protective arms.

I call upon Thee,

My answer in times grey.

My Comforter,

Jesus my Jesus, my hiding place.

This life of mine,

I’ve given to Thee.

All my losses, all my gains

Belong not to me.

My faith in the power of Thy love

Sustains me in this life.

I trust Thee to grant me years,

Jesus my Jesus, in Thee, am I alive.

May my meager life

Bring glory to Thy Name.

Lifting up my writer’s voice,

Let me praise Thee just the same.

It is my desire to honor Thee,

And in my writing, may souls flock.

The enduring Lord forever more,

Jesus my Jesus, my solid Rock.

Thank you for sharing your Faith in such a straight forward manner. Christ is the high tower .. the Good Shepherd of His sheep ... all are invited to His supper .. love the emotion, the vulnerability and honest expression in your poem .. hardly need to say the title drew me in McQueen! thank you for sharing .. i am just beginning my time here at the Cafe' ... its 4:22 AM Arkansas time .. felt ever line of "Jesus My Jesus" ..
