The Full Armor of God

 

Into the storm I go,

As one who goes to battle.

Strapping on the helmet of salvation,

I shall not be rattled.

 

For Thou art with me,

Wherever I may go.

Whether I go down to deep ocean

Or climb the highest mountain, Thou knows.

 

Let me put on the breastplate of faith

And be wrapped in the armor of light.

The shield of faith about me,

Equipped with the belt of truth unto the fight.

 

I have hidden Thy Word in my heart,

Finding more each day

How the Sword of the Spirit

Gives me the words to say.

 

Though the battle still rages

And has yet to refrain,

The war is already conquered

In Jesus’s Name!

 

Let me strap on the shoes of readiness

Of the Gospel of peace, wherever I trod.

Praying at all times,

Daily putting on the full armor of God.
