Christmas is Christmas Now

Christmas is Christmas Now

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Christmas is Christmas Now

A chill fills the air

As shoppers hasten to find

The perfect gift,

Standing in long lines.

Music of the season

Wafts through airways.

People bustling about,

Christmas is here today.

Let joy fill the heart

Even though things may not be right.

It’s ok to feel what you feel--

It’s ok to cry.

For the Father knows your hurt,

As it must have pained Him to send His Son.

To feel what you feel,

To all together come undone.

Call out to the One

Who knows what the celebration is about.

More than just some holiday taken over long ago--

Christmas is Christmas now.

A warmth fills the heart

Upon remembering the birth in Bethlehem town.

Peace and tranquility

Can be readily found.

Jesus, born as Savior of the world,

Lived a life worthy to bow.

When He lives in your heart…

Christmas is Christmas now.
