Joy in My Pocket

Joy in My Pocket

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Joy in My Pocket

The moon hangs in the sky,

Stars shoot across as rockets.

Beauty fills my eyes.

I have joy in my pocket

I’m keeping it for a rainy day,

When dark clouds persist…

When light seems to fade.

I pull out my joy cherished.

When I’m down,

I need not to look far

For joy to be found,

I need only to point to it as a star.

In my heart is a locket…

I have joy in my eternal pocket.
