The New Baby

The New Baby

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The New Baby

Sweet as could be,

Heaven’s grandest treasure.

Born unto the world,

Love without measure

Tiny hands,

Tiny feet.

They will heal,

They will bleed.

The new baby

Is now here.

The promised Messiah

Now near.

Now, He is swaddled in love

As His mother kisses His sweet face.

God’s perfect plan manifested,

And she’s holding mercy and grace.

The picture of innocence

Is sleeping in gathered hay,

Dreaming of the world

He was sent to save.

Love willingly came down,

Our Savior, He came to be.

The gift of God--

The new baby.
