Savior Anew

Savior Anew

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Savior Anew

How great His love

To give of Himself.

The most precious gift

Emptied of hell’s wealth.

Not compared to silver

Or most costly gold.

This gift more beautiful

Than what our eyes behold.

Savior anew, the promise spoken of

Has become the blessed reality.

Earth bowed in amazed awe

At His sovereignty.

Lord already,

This Baby has come to save.

Born tiny in a lowly manger,

This King will take sin away.

Savior anew, His love lay bare,

Cradled in His mother’s arms.

Savior of the world He will be,

Only for a while… in no harm.
