Waves of Peace

Waves of Peace

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Waves of Peace

The moon glowed
in a silvery low-settled sky.

All was quiet,
yet not in her eyes.

With her hope for peace lost
somewhere in “once upon a time”,
she felt a sadness
like a shadow at her side.

Though she breathed

in and out, her little world just wasn’t right.

Yet, the sea before her
was a beautiful sight.

Looking beyond the sea
laid out before her into the night,
the moon did she see
reflecting in its tide.

With her eyes upward,
the moon wasn’t as bright
as what was bubbling
up on the inside.

Her Creator near,
her hope for peace did ignite.

Breathing in deeper,
her smile wide.

Stepping into the water,
she felt inner peace outright--
peace that surpasses

all understanding in radiant light.

You are welcome dear Melinda.
There is something to be said for the calming affect of water, find peace and strength on the shores of softly crashing waves. What a delightful piece to stumble across this morning. Thank you for sharing!
