Rising Anew

Rising Anew

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Rising Anew

The heavy chain broke,
she was no longer bound.

Rising from her knees,
peace she found.

The turmoil that filled her
melted away, it was just… gone.

The heaviness she’d felt
all her life left her alone.

The grit, the dirt,
the deep-rooted. sorrow and pain…
the longing, the hurt,
the gloom of every day…

It was all removed,
covered with a new hope.

Standing now,
she felt strong.

She was crying,
but realized the tears weren’t sadness.

Bubbling up inside,
a well of supreme gladness.

She had given her heart--
her life--her Lord, Jesus Christ.

The One who had been there

To see her rise.

Powerful and worthwhile thoughts shared. When we seek God. Sometimes, we must overcome many things.
"She had given her heart--
her life--her Lord, Jesus Christ.
The One who had been there
To see her rise."
The above lines. So wonderful and good. Thank you dear Melinda for sharing the amazing poetry.
