Compassion and kindness

are the offspring of love...

A child's child

from heaven above.

For love's like a child

innocent in youth...

speaking always

the words of truth.

For out of their mouths

babes will speak.

And nothing selfish

will they seek.

For love's not a feeling

but an act of good.

It's doing always

what you know you should.

Simple and kind

and always giving...

it's how to live

in this life we're living.

This truth I've learned

from God above.

That compassion and kindness

are the children of love.

And the children know

in this life we're living...

that love defined

is the act of giving.
