...a baby locust is called a "Hopper". When they are young they cannot fly quite yet, so they must "hop" to move around. They do this by watching the tree tops for the moving of the wind...when they see the tree tops moving, they know it;s their time to "Hop" and catch the wind to fly...and so it is this story was born. For each of us timing is critical in this life. We, like the hopper, must watch for the "Wind"...it's our chance to fly. Thank you...Night.:)

I love this! Of course I am partial to nature poetry, but this is really good! Our destiny lies upon the winds of change and so it is important to know which way the wind is blowing. A very powerful message!
On a side note, farmers are unlikely to warm up to baby locusts hopping around! An excellent piece though Night, thanks for sharing!
There's nothing wrong with staying in the same place, if your happy being there. I've always lived in East Texas, all over East Texas, but always here. We all have that choice to make, move or stay. I suppose it all comes down to why we want or need to move. The Hopper needed to feed, and in order to fulfill that need he learned to watch the wind, In that respect every time we go from one place to another weather across the room or across the universe, there is a need involved. I suppose the winds of time are one way to know when to go..........The last couplet needs work, otherwise great poem ....thanks for sharing
Wow! Like the note, and the piece that goes with it, like how it comes together, it gives it a spiritually meaning or it can describe any obstacle we may face in life.but your reson for writing it is the best.
Excellent write.
Great read, it's powerful in it's simplicity. Love the author's note, see the significance there. I like when I learn something along with the poetry. Nice pen.

That was a very beautiful poem. It kind of gives you that sense of hope. At least it did for me. You're poetry is really amazing. Great write and well done.

"Consider the Storm"
“And once the storm is over you won’t remember
how you made it through, how you managed to survive.
You won’t even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is.. more..
