"The Wooden Man"

"The Wooden Man"

A Poem by Night

On the edge of Boom Town

it sat with great delight.

And if you listened long enough

you'd hear it's cry at night.

Mr. Murphy was a working man...

a simple folk from town.

You could hear his story told

when the circus came around.

The legend goes that late one night...

out among the woods.

He made a pact with something bad...

a deal that no one should.

Some people say they see him walk...

the children they just ran.

A legend born on circus night...

They call him..."The Wooden Man".
