The Truth

a poem about people not recognizing the truth

The truth is offensive and not believed The truth seems wrong and ill conceived But when it's in question it grows to please When sought in the heart of those who'd thieve

Author's Note

With people becoming politically correct and there being nothing correct about that I wanted to show people are believing lies as truth now days and that when they hear the truth they should ask themselves if it's true first before believing it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being politically correct. I think it shows that someone is self aware and thinks before speaking. But I do agree that the truth is becoming further out of reach. I mean, when the former U.S. President is fact checked and fails time and again... that is incredibly dangerous.

Yeah but being "politically correct" is not the same as being "political". You're treating them as synonymous.

Being politically correct generally means; and I quote "conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated" and I can 100% get behind that.

Your poem has confused me now because I'm not sure you're saying what you intend it to mean.

John 14:6 It's the absolute truth, for those who believe. I do.

He is you, me is you, them is us... morality is a gift born by god maybe or evolution perhaps; either way, the truth is internal if you believe it to be. I'm glad we all somewhat agree here.

Others can't agree with us unless they experience it themselves. We will never know how sweet the apple is by simply looking at it, we need to taste it first. I did, do, and will by faith.🙂
