![]() Indifference (edit)A Poem by Butch Decatoria---INDIFFERENCE--- As if a brief farewell wish Scrawled brusquely Smeared thus Scarlett's bruise Serious fists Detachment Dismissing the flight Remiss of depth and height Fragrant words Which the flesh fancies and the heart favors Emotions as thinly scratched Wrote to emote Arguments Damaged ego The vacancy which hunger wreaks Physically seeks It is an un-abiding howl In lieu of pangs a foul Searching to fulfill a thirst In some substance From all that hurts Abundant in every moment Denial a sudden shame We are neglect and prey So truth remains So much hunger, Heavy with crave To place or be still With or without This hastened space Or void to crave to feed Opposite of desperation No longer A prisoner of need... We sit across from one Another Indifferent As time between Colorless bleeds... Our silence becomes A book we master to read. © 2013 Butch DecatoriaReviews
