Dancers In The Dark

Dancers In The Dark

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Nocturnally wide awake

The days inside

In my dreams

At Night’s

Wake

The morning brush

Strokes sky

Oil painting

Colors never before

Ever seen

But in my dreams / asleep

Through high-noon deserts’

Heatwaves

Waking up

With sunset, to the stars & moon

Cat-calm Cool

Turquoise pools

Cobalt blue

Chinooks before the coming storm

Like Dancers in the Dark.
