Leaving

Leaving

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Gladly

relievingly

and without regret

too long a Vegas zombie

caught in a web

the transient

the nightlife

fashionable concoctions

illicit inertia

dancing with demons

     druglike, delusionary, diminishing

caught in some sort of of star trek

wormhole

timeloop

repeating self-destruction

all the while :

stone,

missing life's beautiful

best breath

my soul's food

going for the gusto

my own lungs

laughing

relievingly

leaving...
