Politicians & A Sunny Day... ?

Politicians & A Sunny Day... ?

A Poem by Butch Decatoria
"

written aug.3,'07 - having recently moved to Hillcrest (Gay-san diego...)

"

Out

for a drive, it's a sunny day,

Hillcrest abuzz

i'm on University again

on the corner of Fifth Ave. and...

a politician has a public appearance

"gather all the Gays!"

a good many folk,

gather at the four corners,

where the big signs lights their nights,

multicolored-centipede on the crosswalk

century-old bashings in it's legs

both odd & beautiful, ambling, flocking

in frocks,

some demure in Docker Khakis and pennyloafers

(Lincoln is peeking to see)

others in Showgirl stilettos

even grandpa & grandma Wiley

made it out

at the corner of Fifth & U...

mistook it for a Liberace sighting,

cheers conflagrate the block

while Pink's "Family Portrait" is

bumpin'

in a hand-me-down rental piece of s**t,

remembering the power of the mustang

(underneathe the leather),

a politician in the midst of wigs and balding head

or maybe someone else...

camera-crew in place,

must be an important face

and i'm on my way to buy new underwear at the Gap

a great crowd tho'

i never saw who the fuss was all about,

sure to see it on the news

the Union pages filled with hollar n' hoots;

a book-signing perhaps -

on the condition of our Earth

and the Economy...

...on my way to buy new underwear from the Gap.

maybe it's a celebrity !?

eating pie on KUSI, a hot-dog eating contest,

sure to see it on the front page of the Tribute

to stupid human pet-tricks;

still, another "Gays-spoken-for"

politician...

run for Mayor - vote for marriage

unanimous california landslides

what's your stance ?     stand on mud or sink in sand ?

"save the fashionistas from crystal & bulemia;

feed the dykes their fill of c***s . . .?"

Hillcrest is abuzz

and i'm on my way to buy new underwear from the Gap

maybe just a celebrity -

their face in The Enquiror's  sludge...

still it's a sunny day

cum ,    won't you be my neighbor...?

maybe tomorrow's judge...
