Million and one pieces

Million and one pieces

A Poem by Too Poetic
"

A poem about heartbreak.

"
A million and one pieces,
drifting with the wind.
Scattering across the world.
A million and one pieces,
Locomoting throughout the globe.
A shattered and broken heart,
shattered into a million and one,
with each piece drifting alone.
Without a single implementation of hope,
A shattered heart, has no medicine.
Mystics, witches nor doctors,
know not a cure nor ailment,
for the likes of an aching heart.

It weeps day and night, tears
That run like a roaring river,
Streams that seem endless.
When those tears come forth no more,
Surely do the eyes not go blind?
For in every well, abundant as it may be
Indeed it runs dry, when used unsparingly.

Oh aching heart, calm all your worries.
The world is not over as it might seem,
Your heart will be whole once more,
The pieces will fall together once more,
A million and one pieces falling in unity,
Oh aching heart, let patience be the key
To unlocking times before the suffering,
times when you were once happy and carefree.

The last stanza flows almost melodically, and offers inspiration to the heartbreak and sadness we encounter in life. "A million and one pieces", all to often we feel that we lose parts of ourselves when dealing with pain and heartbreak. I agree, "let patience be the key".

I love the way the ending matches the start but in an opposite way, it creates a beautiful imagery in my head, all those broken pieces distancing from each other and later coming back together like a video playing backwards. "For in every well, abundant as it may be Indeed it runs dry, when used unsparingly." is just amazing. Great work.
