Pressure To Change The Mirror

Pressure To Change The Mirror

A Poem by Poetic Songstress
"

A poem about the pressures of trying to be someone you're clearly not.

"

Stop looking at me

I'm just trying to be

What you all expect me to be

Is that not enough

Too much, does that make me a freak

The thinner the better

Anorexia won't get her

She's a strong girl

She can fight her own battles

And if she don't win, hey at least she'll be thin

I have the biggest crush on him

See all the models he hangs out with

I'd give anything to be one of them

But I don't look like that, guess I'll have to settle for dreams instead

Magic little pill will take away all the extra weight

Your heart will beat fast, and sure you might feel faint

But don't worry 'cause you're okay

All that matters is that you drop the weight

Become thin and you can be with him

In real life, not just your mind

Besides, (even) if you can't, who cares if you die (trying)?
