Girls don't like boys who use lines to pick them up... At least this girl doesn't lol

Once upon a time

In my shattered, broken life

I thought I was in love

Found out it was only like

 

"Show me yours and I'll show you mine"

He said to me that one last time

"Find me today and you'll have me for life"

"No thank" I said "I don't fall for lines,

Now why don't you, go take a hike"

I love this poem--it's very assertive. I like the use of lines within the poem itself, very effective--and demonstrates another perspective without breaking up the flow. GREAT job!
