Calm of My Storm

Calm of My Storm

A Poem by Poetic Angel

I feel the calm
of my storm
As it's raging alive
Rising  mounting
Swelling inside
I speak softly to the sound of your ghost
Saying your name when it hurts the most
Each time I tried I just  broke inside
I'm the box with no lock
And too much to hide
Skin stretched across bone
And you left me alone
Carving this sadness in circles of sorrow
Wishing for heart beats and more time to borrow
All the Sand slipped through the glass of our time
You left before me ; you left me behind
Now my blood barely pumps I taste ashes and dust
Sun rises and sets - and I can't forget -
"One for sorrow two for joy
Three for girls four for boys
Five for silver six for gold
Seven for secrets never to be told "
You were the bird that nest inside me
Sound asleep under my skin
You opened up your wings to me
And didn't let me in..

This sad tale reeks of loss: either from death, or lost love (or one sided love until he vanishes, to say the least).

Consumes my soul in sorrow:

"You were the bird that nest inside me"
"Sound asleep under my skin"
"You opened up your wings"
"And didn't let me in.."

Pangs me to read.

Ahh, poor, Angel; be careful with your heart my love, your beauty may well betray you luring in unrighteousness counterparts. Be more protective of yourself, take things slow. Unwind yourself in pieces instead of unfolding layer after layer until only your purest of essence remains.

We all want love; but lust is ever present in this dance with man and woman.

If, of course, this story is about love lost and not that of death of a friend or family.

For the poem is layered with death/loss, it wouldn't surprise me if that's what this tale is telling, or if it be just a metaphor. Leaving you to survive all alone.

Secrets I may never become enlightened to know.

In, your "Calm before the Storm" unsettles me. I know lonesomeness all too much and the theme here is sorrowfilled to the brink of inner collapse.

Take care,
Angel

Pure poetess.
