A Forceful Fight

A Forceful Fight

A Poem by Shannon Lee Rohn

A Forceful Fight

I was young, and understanding,
With many people near,
Living with no fear, Until I was alone,
And a stranger came to touch my body that was fully grown.
Wondering if I should cry or scream,
Wondering if it was only a dream.
The alcohol on his breath, and the knife in his hand,
All the violence was in demand.
When he grabbed my arms forcefully,
Like an overgrown bully.

He held my hands to the ground,
Trying to scream but hear no sound,
Going through all the fear,
Although no one could hear.
I couldn't move my head from side to side,
By then my arms were already tied.
So I tried to yell,
But he made me feel as if my body was for sale.

Pushing his hands away from my scarless face,
Making this stranger angry as he used his hands in a forceful place.
No words could escape from my mouth,
Not a peep and not a sound.
While my blouse was torn and off to the side of my body,
My back was scratched from rocks on the dirt,
The emotional trauma began when he ripped my skirt.

Knowing I was only walking on the side of an empty road with no light,
Just a man that came to my sight.
This man cut the thigh of my leg,
Then stabbed me as I cried with the pleading beg.
Rubbing my breasts with his cold hand,
My force wasn't as strong as his unforgiven man.
My face was left with a scar or two,
But yet he wasn't through,
and yes I knew.
My words were still so silent,
and so quiet…

I turned my head as he open my legs, the shame I set aside,
When I felt a part of him already inside.
By then the tears had fallen beside my cheek,
My body then felt weak.
As he left me there to bleed,
Before I could open my eyes,
I was laying alone on the dirt, under a dark tree,
Although my body still wasn't free.
