Soul Mates (A Fragile Love)

My personal feelings on the idea of soul mates.

Soul mates

means friends first

and friends for life

it means missing them

from the day that you first met

means you thought of them,

yesterday, today, and tomorrow

it means you'll love them,

for ten years,

for twenty years,

for thirty years,

forever

it means staying together,

through the good and the bad

but if you don't

it means coming back,

again and again

it means if you meet them tomorrow

you may not realize it for years

it means touch, taste, sight, smell, sound

it means that if you don't try,

you could lose them

and if that may happen

it means heartbreak, that could last a lifetime

but you'll never have a greater love

a great love, but a fragile love

it means dying with their name,

on your mind,

on your tongue,

and in your hand

it's a love so deep,

it's almost unattainable

but once you do,

it's indescribable

but please take care

because it's a fragile love

and unless you fight,

every day,

and every night

just like any other love

it can slip through your fingers

and be lost to the stars

it's a fragile love

but a love without bars
