The desert of years

The desert of years

A Poem by Moataz El Sakkar
"

From the 9 writings of melancholy

"

Vanished, finished, lost and gone
And the sands of time bury what's left
With every grain a once cherished memory
The hourglass again breaks and seconds shift

So relish the desert of years
Flowing through the nick of time
For every cut a grain that heals
A thunderstorm sky of every clime
For every glory a grain conceals
Burying empires at their utmost prime

Flowers of all sorts to it were rushed
Time doesn't wait for the right time
And beneath millennia all is crushed
