Attitude of Gratitude

Attitude of Gratitude

A Poem by Jennifer Pennington

A Wintry chill snuck in through the door
lingering like a spectre on the floorboards
bolts of icy lightning shot up through my toes
As I left my bed and stood up to the morning glow
A deep breath of gratitude is now taken
As warm blood rushes and the chills are shaken
What seemed like a long night has now given way
To the miracle mantra birdsongs of a brand new day
Thank you God
