Luck Of The Storm

Luck Of The Storm

A Poem by Possum63

It's a billowing but graceful dance
Gliding and elegant across such a vast stage
Any passer bys captured in the beauty of it
It shows the freedom of breaking free of a cage.

It cannot be restrained or contained
Ropes and chains are no much for such a powerful force
Mankind doesn't stand a chance against the invisible
And there's no stopping it, it can't be tamed like a horse.

Alone and bewildered I stand
Completely mesmerised and awe struck
Some say the calm before the storm is to be feared
But to survive such a mad creation is some form of luck.

I lived on both coastlines of the North American continent. I saw the big storms. Your words are true. There is beauty in the power of the sea. Man can't control her and leave him with fear of her. A very good ending to a outstanding poem.
