Drums

Drums

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

The drums, I hear them pounding
Not unlike a thumping heart
Although I am so close to you
It seems that we are worlds apart

You say you want to dance
But you always pull away
I shall dance with, or without you
Give me a reason I should stay

The music, I must feel its beat
If only for a while
So do you, yet you deny it
The truth revealed within your smile

Take my hand, together
We can share of this one thing
Pure emotions, later reflect
On the joy that it did bring
