Sunflower

Sunflower

A Poem by KaylaMarie

I walk in a field with my sundress and sandles
Carrying a bag full of standards
With the sweet scent of confidence entering my nostrils
Freedom flowing through my veins
I walk a little bit further
Touching flowers along the way
as they start to murmur my name
Ever so sweetly saying, I'm so glad you came
Come take a seat, you and I are one in the same
Sunflower, sunflower, do tell me how?
Please don't wait, tell me now
They start to sway back and forth
Fighting the wind to not take their
petals, screaming leave me alone
Standing strong in their root
For that to me is proof
Even they know their worth
I walk a little further in the field
Now certain I know what I deserve
And I wont settle for anything less
For you and I sunflower, have been through
tough times, non the less
Sunflower, sunflower
We have alot to look forward to
