Beautiful Tree

Beautiful Tree

A Poem by Tom Friel

Sensuously organic, her limbs reach effortlessly towards the stars
Stoically she stands firm, though never still, against the gray canvas sky
Her intricate silhouette weaves and waves to the new morning sun

For her, rest will come, all in due time as her colors warmly bid farewell
Her time-honored faith will awaken her, ever gently, to the joys of Spring

To a season of celebration filled with new beginnings and new hopes
Where Mother Nature’s garden will spring wildly to life in a lush-filled frenzy
Where within her, young tender leaves will timidly emerge reaching out

To catch the fresh sweet rain that drops softly from the heavenly sky
Quickly they will grow to bask, and shade, and protect all that is around her

Graciously she will soon welcome the advent of Autumn
Where all will longingly gaze at her colorful crowning canopy
Boldly she will let herself go to the seasonal winds of life’s passion

Bidding adieu to her flock of leaves, those she’s held and nourished.
It is then, and only then, that she will turn her thoughts to sleep

There, hidden away, she will store a ring of sweet memories
A reminder of each and every glorious season she has lived
And though her limbs grow heavier, they grow stronger

And though her faith may bend, it never breaks
And we, each and everyone of us, are so lucky, to have known her

I absolutely love this! For one, I love trees, and I think they are quite beautiful in their own way. Seriously though, your personification skills are excellent. I had an easy time visualizing what was going on in the poem, and every image was cohesive. You have some serious skills, my friend.
