Another Kodak Moment

Another Kodak Moment

A Poem by Tom Friel

It feels like an eyelash
Just before you blink
You know it’s coming
That momentary reflex
Of darkness
When you close your eyes
Much like a camera
Recording only what it sees
The past revisited
An image viewed
Again and again
You wish
To see the big picture
But an amateur
Can only capture so much
Snapshots on the frig
Emails to friends
Christmas greetings
Full of smiles
You close you close
Only to realize
The past has clicked
