Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde

Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde

A Poem by Psyche
"

Sometimes how I feel about my disorder, like I am really two people, not just one.

"

Into the dark recesses of my mind.

This Hyde-like person

I don't even know.

But steals into my body

and takes over control.

And suddenly-

A monster comes onto the  scene,

it's lying,

stealing,

beating and screaming

tearing the frailities

of the relationships I hold so dear.

Dr. Jekyll,

your poison was so sweet

like pure sin

that draped my body.

I imbibe my bitter fate.

And Evil I become....

Again this is about my daily struggle with a disorder that sometimes twist me into someone I don't know. I only hope this reaches out to others who are dealing with someone like this in their family or close network

It sounds as if this disorder that you struggle with must torment you at times! Many of us may feel that we are two different people if we are not balanced....chemical imbalances. One personality side can dominate at times, perhaps triggered by an event, a memory!
I do hope you are able to gain some peace by putting it onto paper. It makes for an interesting read!
I agree with Jobbs about putting evil at the end. It gives it a better close.

Wow, very impressive. I really enjoyed the personification of your angst into it's very own Hyde. "Dr. Jekyll your poison was so sweet" This line is gold! The only thing I would possibly change is the very ending. "and the rage boils over" is a good line, but I'd recommend moving "and Evil I become" to be the last line. It brings the piece to a powerful close. Good work.
