Combine

Combine

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Skin and soul

How do mine feel under your fingertips

Brushed light and ever more soft

Hoping beyond reason

For a little tenderness and

You.

Precision at heart beat speeds

Take the time to pay attention to breaths

And shivers and eye lids

I am telling you a story.

Heat and composure mix

Running on separate paths yet

Meeting in the middle to tell all my secrets

Heaving and giving way under your governing

Sealed with a kiss, betrayed by my voice

Skin and soul

Combine.

Reminds me of a lonely heart, simmering for a love just out of reach. Nice work :)

this is very low-key passion. a tricky thing. a slow burn. nice.
