As The Worry Begins

As The Worry Begins

A Poem by Dwain Dowdy
"

Finally taking responsibility for ruining a relationship

"
For so long now my struggle has been real
The same can be said for the pain and loss
To try to explain my emotionless zeal
And all the while never facing the cost

A battle so intense my mind picks no side
I only turned a blind eye to my sins
The Flames of wrongdoing connect to my pride
While all the lies surround me like new skin

Mercy is only a foreign thought
A concept which holds no truth
The pardon I so desire cannot be bought
I caused all this hurt her tears are the proof

My weakness is, I have no resolve
For my mind must not be my own
How can I as, a partner evolve
When my crops of Deceit have been sown

"...The Flames of wrongdoing connect to my pride

This part resonates with me. The whole piece is clear and thought provoking. I like your writing style, the rhyme pattern made the flow smooth.
