Cancer

Cancer

A Poem by Simon Welsh
"

i see beauty in the distance

"
another branch of my family tree
is withered by life
the leaves fall where they may
cover my tears
they try

i see beauty in the distance
yet this town is painted in bullshit
i can't lose another piece of my heart
i'll fall down into the pit of heaven

taste hospital food
i'll listen to your voice
passing over me
we'll pretend it's lunch
and cherish the sunlight
struggling past the blinds

i can see beauty in the past
where we are all young and naive
everyone seemed so nicer
before i learned how strange life can be

and i won't cry
we'll try not to cry
i'm sick of losing
i won't cry
you can't leave
no
not yet

This is beautiful, and it's really emotional as well. It speaks a lot, and I'm glad to read it. Keep it up.

I'm sorry. My aunt had cancer and my uncle told us the doctors said she only had a week to live so we were going to go visit her... An hour later he called back to inform us that the doctors were wrong and she had died.

B
Such a hard thing to go through
Yet somehow i see your ways of disconnecting from the physical surroundings
and seeing the beauty of this person that departs this life

i must say cancer is the ultimate enemy
You done a great job here
