Secret

Secret

A Poem by Patrick O'Neil

Dark secret. Hidden so deep. Buried beneath, mountains. Never will you see, light of day. Dark secret. It's always there, a constant reminder. Dare not wake, dare not face it. Dark secret. Hunts you down. Tracking your sent. It has tainted your world. It won't ever, let you forget it. Dark secret. Let's you think, you can outrun it. Then you feel it's breath, warm, on the back of your neck. Secret of the heart.
Secret we keep.Secret so deep.
Secret so dark.

Good description about the deception yet danger that a "dark secret" can bestow on us.
