House Cleaning

House Cleaning

A Poem by Bethany Woody
"

Another old piece reposted.

"
Used mop water
makes for acurate
reflections.

But only if
you see yourself
as impure.

Streaks on the
bathroom mirror
cut you.

But only if
you don't
wipe them away.

Juice stains
on white t-shirts
remind you of mistakes.

But only if
you don't
wash them out.

Dirty toilets
stink of
regrets.

But only if
you don't
flush them away.

House cleaning
is dirty
buisness.

But somebody
has to
do it.

I liked this piece. I liked it because you have incorperated life within the makings of housework. The mistakes hint of what has come before, life that has been lived and loved, and all has been forgiven.
