Highest Price To Pay

Highest Price To Pay

A Poem by Bethany Woody

So much in the way
and you're always somewhere else.
Feelings won't desert me,
have we reached the point of no return?

Feel you slipping away from me
when all I live for is you.
Please don't leave me,
I'm vulnerable to your love.

My eyes are blurry
from tears calling your name.
And the light is fading out,
so close to losing you.

You came from out of nowhere
and I became yours.
But one minute here
and the next you're gone.

And hope is fleeting
when love is gone.
The highest price to pay
is all the pain.
