Surge

Surge

A Poem by Alexander D. May
"

Mixed Mania

"

I feel it creeping up my back and down

to warm marrow and then up through cold bones

This surging electric whirl so great I

can’t find solace in a letter or word

In this dimly lit room beings stalk about

Abounding in the soft glow of flaring

Candlelight -

Slinking about in shadowy abyss

The fibers of my arm raise in terror

Shocked by its astounding ascendency

Cowering in the dark corner alone

This night
