5am: Spring Daybreak

A Poem by Onyx Crow
"

Hi everyone, this poem is hopefully going to be part of an anthology that I'm working on. It's based on a memory of when I had insomnia one night and decided to watch the transition from night to day.

"

5am: Spring Daybreak

A turn of the hour, another world.

During the springtime morning,

A dark blue sky brightens,

Colours outside the spectrum of blue reawaken.

Clouds are highlighted; white, pink.

Trees and plants slowly transform green.

With this change, they can photosynthesise,

Again, and begin to make themselves breakfast.

Another world indeed,

And no greater evidence came,

Than in the form of a bluetit,

Perched on the wire outside my window.

He sang a song, bright and cheerful,

Complimenting the vivid visuals of the sky.

They and I, the silent audience,

Greeted the new day together.

Hi, apologies for the different format. I tried multiple times to upload the image file onto the post but for whatever reason it just isn't happening. I'll have to use this format until it decides to work again.
