Haven

Haven

A Poem by Hannah Meadows

What do I see when I close my eyes?
I see a world that is free and revolutionized.
A world that is uncompromised by the killing of trees.
A world that is not a world but a haven waiting to be seen.

I see flies buzzing around in the sky.
I see people across seas willing to harmonize.
There are no fights or political outcries.
Only the plights of those willing to sacrifice.

I see a world unhinged by the sight of city lights.
I see families brave through the thrills and delights of day to day life.
I see a world waiting to be seen.

For this is a place with no common race.
It is rather an escape to a more modern day pace.
A pace and a place that includes but is not limited too
extravagant food, timeless tunes, and luxurious afternoons.
For this world I dream is only waiting to be seen.
