Rainstorm

Rainstorm

The dark clouds come

And cover our nation

As mother nature

Drowns us in her presence

 

Seems she’ll stay for the week

And God is above

Watching over everyone I love

As she makes it rain harder

 

The wind picks up

Blowing all our trees

They get a nice shower

And a drink of water

 

While the birds find shelter

We won’t see them fly

Until this storm goes away

But nothing can hide

 

I look up in the sky

For some reason

Everyone I know

Comes to my head

 

Sending prayers your way

We will all need it

Protect them as they drive

Please let us all get home safely

This is my favorite stanza. I don't really know why, exactly? But I can relate to this. As usual, another Outstanding piece.
