You'll See, Daddy..A Poem by QuietPoetYou’ll See, Daddy.. I sat and stared at my dad today From a distance We were in the store Everything else disappeared And I just focused on him He was on the phone And he was looking at the cat food He couldn’t decide which to get Looking at the prices Tears kind of formed my eyes What he said to me when he got home Kept echoing in my ears “I’m so broke, I don’t know how I’m going to buy groceries” I just sighed and let him vent When all I wanted to do was Run over to you and give you a hug And tell you its all going to be ok You’ll see, Daddy.. I hate sitting back and watching Them struggle and can’t do a thing Because we’re all in the same hole It breaks my heart seeing my family this way But deep down in this heart of mine I believe things will get better Just believe me when I say You’ll see, Daddy.. © 2010 QuietPoet |
