A lovers swarm

A lovers swarm

A Poem by Emily Meadows

The loveless sea of loathing awaits the Earth
Slowly sinking and wasting
Like the wit full child in birth

My mind still ponders the day she died
My heart, at night, still cruelly cries

Bottles shattered
a drunken fight
the time she died
I loathe the night

A soul yet torn; a lovers swarm
a river of blood
a shattered soul
Pills can't make me whole

So I write this poem in the cruel night
Hoping to win my mothers fight.
The day she died, my soul was torn
Like that of a lovers swarm.

domestic abuse is the worst...and the children suffer so much...a very moving piece...needs editing but a very good use of rhyme and near rhyme to drive home the theme with pertinent form.
