Pony Face

Pony Face

A tale about a loving horse with a ton of attitude.

Pony Face

Cassidy acted a panicky horse,

A spirited Arabian-strain mare,

Who has a long flowing mane,

Anytime would nay and swear.

Pony-face I am here to see you.

May I indulge my dandy-brush?

Why do you gooseneck fuddled,

In winter’s cold abysmal slush?

What are the feral tones I hear,

Out those hairy nostrils flaring?

I’ve brought you excellent hay,

Why agonize me vile swearing?

Our pony of liveliest disposition,

It maybe your far away thought,

Anger I saw in your dished-face,

Scathes me an ornery onslaught.

The dill-seed addition I’d made,

Into your sweet oats grain feed,

You did wield spitting fiery-nays,

And fled a ten furlong stampede!

I thought I could try this remedy,

Sometimes a horse will get colic,

I’d incensed miss thorny-hooves,

Into a haphazard buckaroo frolic.

The saddle-strap is spooking you,

You revved muscular legs to run,

Barefoot tore-up a busy highway,

Flew like a slug-shot out of a gun.

You trot with a soured toxic look,

I petitioned to get your attention,

You’ve chosen to be disgruntled,

Allege my fault in our dissension.

You’re that horse we’ve beheld,

If you’ll undertake to forgive me.

I’ve brought these large carrots,

So you can gallop acting happily.

Why are repeated rattling-snorts,

Emanating out of your stiff nose?

Is there a recent snarly complaint,

Or discontent you could disclose?

We can negotiate our stalemate,

After all you’re a majestic beast.

Thunder-horse come over to me.

How about a green apple feast?

Your tantrums are a catastrophe,

Oh why pony-face can’t you see?!

Cuddle your head onto my chest,

I will rub your neck real tenderly.

Boycott your thundering bronco,

That’s bucking me a rough ride,

I’ll never rein-whip on your ribs,

Or ever spur your delicate hide.

You are the capable thunder-butt,

Our friendly little pony-face mare,

Dapple-gray as wondering clouds,

Loving us with your curious stare.
